Course Learning Objectives/Outcomes

By the end of the course, the Counselor, Marriage and Family Therapist, Social Worker or Psychologist will be able to:
-List examples of intersecting forms of oppression
-Explain five psychological sets that can be used in understanding cultural openness.
-Identify three components of counselor credibility for culturally different clients.
-Describe counseling methods that can be used to treat African-American clients experiencing depression.
-List five stages regarding minority identity development model.
-Discuss internal locus of control and external locus of control in Chinese and Native American clients.
